How to grow marigolds

  • How to choose

Choose seedlings that have brightly colored flowers and leaves and solid stems. Also, check for mites and aphids.

  • Sowing seeds

The seeds are relatively large and easy to sow. Soak the seeds in water overnight, put Akadama soil and vermiculite in a tray, sprinkle them, cover them with soil about 5 mm, and manage them in a cool shade. After germination, place it in a sunny and well-ventilated place for management. It is a flower that germinates easily, so it will germinate in about 3 to 5 days. When the number of true leaves is 2-4, transplant or plant them in pot seedlings. I don’t like damp soil, so I manage it by giving plenty of water when it dries.

  • Daily management

If you leave the dead flowers as they are, they will rot when they get wet in the rain, or seeds will form and nourishment will go to the next flower. Cut dead flowers diligently.

  • Watering

When the soil dries, give plenty of water. When watering, it is desirable to water the plants so that the flowers do not get wet as much as possible, but since spider mites are likely to attach during the hot and dry season, the leaves should be covered in the cool hours after the evening. Sprinkle plenty of water to prevent it.

  • How to increase

It can be increased with seeds or cuttings.
