こんな特徴
マダガスカルが原産の多肉植物で、色鮮やかな、かわいらしい花を咲かせます。乾燥に強く、暖かい場所であれば1年中花を楽しめます。最大で2m近くまで茎が生長することもあります。 その茎の表面には、2cmほどの鋭いトゲが無数に生えています。
英名では「Kiss-me-quick（早くキスして）」があります。
別名は「Crown-of-thorns（茨の冠）」「Christ Plant」とあり、イエス・キリストが冠せられた「茨の冠」がこの植物だった伝説があります。
管理
水はけのよい土を好みます。春から秋は、日当たりの良い屋外で育てます。真夏の直射日光の当たりすぎが良くないため、夏場は半日陰に置きます。

I prefer well-drained soil. From spring to autumn, grow outdoors in the sun. Since it is not exposed to the direct sunlight of midsummer, it should be placed in the half shade in the summer.
