こんな特徴

シクラメンは赤、ピンク、白などの他、黄色、紫の花色がとても豊富です。ハート形の葉の間から花茎を伸ばし、反り返った花弁を下向きにして次々と咲かせます。花弁の縁が波打つロココ咲き、八重咲きなど花形も多彩です。最近は香りの強いものまで品種もたくさんあります。鉢花用のほかに、比較的寒さに強く戸外でも栽培できるガーデンシクラメンや原種などのミニ系もあります。

管理

室内のよく日が当たる窓辺に置き、花がらや黄変した葉は、付け根から引き抜きます。

葉を枯らして球根だけの状態で夏越しさせる「休眠法」葉を残して生育しながら夏越しさせる「非休眠法」があります。

夏は、水を切って雨の当たらない場所で休眠させるか、半日陰に置いて、水を与えて夏越しさせます。
