こんな特徴

リンドウは「枕草子」や「源氏物語」にも登場する秋の山野草の代表的なものです。人里に近い野山から山地の明るい林床や草原に見られます。青紫の花は太陽の受けると開き、天候の悪い日や夜には閉じます。薬草としても広く知られています。リンドウの全草は苦く、特に根は大変苦くて薬用になります。中国では、古くから知られる苦味のある熊胆くまのいよりも、さらに苦いという意味で「竜胆」と名付けられました。

管理

庭植えは西日の当たらない場所に植えます。鉢花は日当たりと風通しの良い戸外に置きます。花がらはこまめに摘み取ります。
